EU-wide entry restrictions remain in force. For Germany, these restrictions are issued by the Federal Ministry of the Interior and Community (). Please check prior to your trip what up-to-date regulations apply. Besides following COVID-19 travel and entry regulations in order to enter Germany.
The following overview shall be kept up-to-date by EKONID for informational purposes for business travelers from Indonesia to Germany, thus without any guarantee and excluding all liability.

Even though infections remain high in Germany, entering from Indonesia is possible under a certain set of rules. Travellers who are only transferring at an airport in Germany are also required to present proof of their COVID鈥�19 status.

From 3 March 2022, every person over the age of 12 is obliged to carry either (a) proof of vaccination or (b) negative test result or (c) proof of recovery when entering Germany.
Meaning the proof of vaccination can be substituted by COVID-19 test or proof of recovery.
a. Proof of vaccination against COVID-19 has to be in German, English, French, Italian or Spanish in digital or paper form (e.g. ; yellow WHO vaccination booklet).
A photo of the proof in paper form is not sufficient.
The vaccination must have taken place with vaccines approved by the European Union with at least two doses, with the second dose given at least 14 days prior to travel.
Right now, only the following vaccines are recognized in the EU:
Biontech-Pfizer
AstraZeneca
Moderna
Johnson&Johnson
Novavax
Other vaccines, e.g. Sinovac, are not recognized and cannot be used as a proof of vaccination! (2x Sinovac + 1 Booster with the vaccines recognized by the EU is not sufficient as a proof of vaccination! It must be at least two doses of the EU recognized vaccines.)
The proof of vaccination must contain:

- personal data of the person vaccinated (at leat surname, first name(s) and birth date or number of passport / ID
- date and number of vaccinations
- name of the vaccine used.
- name of the illness against which the person was vaccinated
- characteristics that allow to identify the person of institution that was responsible for the vaccination or the issuance of the certificate, such as an official seal Symbol or name
- where necessary: details on booster vaccinations and the corresponding date.

These requirements for vaccinations are in force until 30 September. From 1 October as a rule three doses of vaccine will be required.
b. COVID鈥�19 test results (antigen or PCR tests in German, English, French, Italian or Spanish) must not be more than 48 hours old. However, if entering Germany with a carrier (e.g. an airline), PCR tests may be taken a maximum of 48 hours before scheduled departure. Antigen tests must not be taken more than 48 hours before the scheduled time of arrival in Germany.

As of Thursday, March 3. 2022, no states/regions are considered as high-risk areas or areas of variant of concern. The digital entry registration (Digitale Einreiseanmeldung) is therefore not required anymore. Likewise, there is no requirement for self-isolation (quarantine) when entering Germany from Indonesia.

Since Monday, 4 April 2022 Germany lifted most of the measures that were initiated to slow down COVID-19 infections. Wearing a mask in restaurants and shops is no longer compulsory. Still, companies can introduce their own rules. Nevertheless, there will be basic protection such as mandatory masks on public transport, as well as in hospitals and care homes.
The Federal States can introduce stricter hotspot-measures for their area if necessary.
Similar to PeduliLindungi App the German counterpart can be used to register at different venues, keep your proof of vaccination or warn after contacts with COVID-19 positive people.
