Indonesia Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) and Directorate General of Immigration (Ditjen Imigrasi) has signed the Memorandum of Understanding in the framework of acceleration and improvement of foreign investment realization in Indonesia.
According to the press release of BKPM, the scope of cooperation among others consist of:
- Integration of passport recording examination system in the Immigration Management Information System (SIMKIM);
- System integration of revocation of investment principle license, investment registration, and Single Business Number (NIB);
This collaboration aims to facilitate business licensing for foreign investors and for obtaining the stay permit. Furthermore, foreigners can be exempted from any Recommendation Letters, which previously issued by BKPM and are free from DPKK Payment, which would be categorized as the Investors with the following conditions:
- Foreigner as a Director/Commissioner with the share ownership over IDR 1 Billion;
- Foreigner not as a Director/Commissioner has the share ownership over IDR 1.125 Billion.
The simplification of the regulatory as a target of the Indonesian Government to encourage a better investment climate.
