Business Development at EKONID

The Business Development Department is a service unit within EKONID. We plan and implement export promotion projects on behalf of the German government and serve individual institutional as well as corporate clients with a range of business support services. Our primary department tasks and services include:

  • Provision of basic market information based on company inquiries we receive daily
  • Conducting market research and develop market studies for corporate and institutional clients
  • Initiation of long-lasting business relationships through our service Business Partner Search and through trade missions that we organize several times a year in different industrial sectors e.g., renewable energy, environmental technology and consumer goods

 

Position overview:

Perform a variety of administrative, analytic, and programmatic tasks under the general supervision of the Head of Business Development. Assist the Head of Business Development with project implementation. Requires in-depth understanding of international business relations and Indonesien import-export knowledge.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Assist with specific projects involving research, data collection and compilation, report writing, outcomes summarization, event and B2B meeting coordination;
  • Collect and arrange contacts gathered from EKONID events/seminars/exhibitions according to EKONID CRM system guidelines;
  • Respond to incoming queries under the general supervision of the Head of Business Development;
  • Assist the Head of Business Development in researching export/import regulations in Indonesia;
  • Assist the Business Development team, under the direction of Head division, in communicating directly with government authorities, local industry players, and business associations in order to get direct insight into the economic and political climate;
  • Coordinate across departments on special projects

 

Requirements:

  • Respond effectively to inquiries;
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment;
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple requests, interruptions, and varying deadlines;
  • Experience in meeting and event coordination;
  • Ability to expand and build new relationships with business owners and executive stakeholders to understand and uncover new opportunities;
  • Completes tasks with minimal supervision and with general direction only.

 

Qualifications:

  • Education: Minimum Bachelor鈥檚 degree in a relevant field, preferably economics or international business;
  • Professional experience: At least 3 years of relevant research experience in a similar position in some of the following institutions/companies: Research institution, international trade support organization, renowned business/industry association or business consultancy;
  • Basic knowledge: Ideally, broad knowledge in Indonesian export-import regulations as well as regulations concerning major industries ;
  • Language: A proficient command in verbal and especially written English is essential, knowledge of the German language would be an advantage;
  • Required technical skills: Proficient in standard MS-Office software applications ;
  • Further skills: Consultative sales experience, particularly in a membership-based organization preferred; Strong cross-cultural awareness.
