The German-Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (91大神 Indonesien / EKONID) acts as a strategic interface between the German and Indonesian economies. We are part of the worldwide German Chamber Network with 140 locations in 92 countries. We represent the mutual interest in business relationships of German and Indonesian companies, organizations and institutions. Our main activity is to support companies from both nations in exploring new areas of investment and establishing business relationships. We are a meeting point, information center and first point of contact for companies interested in doing business in and with Indonesia.

Currently, EKONID is looking for:
SENIOR LEGAL OFFICER
Location: Jl. H. Agus Salim No. 115, Menteng, Jakarta 10310
Your role:
As Legal Officer you will work in a small expert team on numerous cases from all business sectors.
You will support our customers with their projects in Indonesia and accompany them in all corporate and commercial law matters. The focus is on all relevant legal and regulatory issues associated with set up, implementation, and protection of business activities in Indonesia. You will advise our international customers on company establishments, the acquisition of existing companies and on how to set up a representative office. You will also support customers with corporate matters, such as capital increase, change of shareholders, board of directors and/or members of the supervisory board. Furthermore, you will assist in drafting contracts and review existing agreements with regard to their compliance with Indonesian law. Also, you will promote our legal services to potential customers. For this, you will use and build your international network to other organizations, government entities and businesses. Furthermore, you will support EKONID in its own internal legal matters, such as contracts, work visas, etc.
Your responsibilities:
- Management of inquiries from European and Indonesian companies
- Dealing with Indonesian government administration in particular:
- regarding Foreign Direct Investment
- Work- and Residence Permits for expats
- Must be a team player and keen on developing and promoting legal services to international customers
- Analysis, processing and information transfer of Indonesian laws, rules and regulations to foreign companies
- Preparation and implementation of various information events, such as legal round tables or webinars
- Strengthening EKONID鈥檚 network to government administration bodies, as well as other business organizations
- Managing EKONID鈥檚 internal legal affairs.
Required qualifications:
- Excellent graduation with Master鈥檚 degree majoring in Law
- Knowledge of legal affairs, especially Indonesian Corporate-, Civil-, Trade- and Employment Law
- Knowledge of legal documentation and licenses (such as OSS, etc.)
- Experience with foreign investments
- Very strong intercultural skills of working with foreign colleagues, organizations and customers
- Highly structured and organized while working on different cases at the same time
- Bahasa Indonesia as mother tongue and excellent fluency in English (German is a welcome added value)
- Strong network into Indonesian government administration bodies
- Practical experience in Law Firm or any other legal related roles (min. 5 years)
- We are looking for an outgoing, customer-focused communicator with a proven track record of defining and implementing strategies, projects and services.
