EKONID supports Govt. Gotong Royong Vaccination scheme

22.03.2021

EKONID, in coordination with the Indonesian Chamber of Industry and Commerce (KADIN), is supporting the national Gotong Royong Vaccination scheme in order to ensure that all willing recipients within the German-Indonesian business community are registered for vaccination against COVID-19.

On mid-January 2021, the Indonesian Government issued a 鈥淣ational Covid-19 Vaccination鈥 drive. The drive mandates the vaccination of all Indonesians, starting with healthcare workers, followed by government officials and public servants, and then the general public. As of March 21, 2021, over 5 million Indonesians have received their first vaccine injections while another 2.3 million Indonesians have taken their second and final injections.

To ensure that no individuals are left behind, the Indonesian government, via Minister of Health Decree No. 10/2021, will allow private companies to participate in its vaccination program by allowing private companies to purchase their own vaccines. The scheme, dubbed 鈥淰aksinasi Gotong Royong鈥, will see the vaccines ordered and purchased by state-owned pharmaceutical Bio Farma under supervision of the Ministry of Health and in coordination with the government. Moreover, employees can still choose to participate in Vaksinasi Gotong Royong or wait for the government鈥檚 vaccination program.

EKONID, in coordination with KADIN, is supporting this effort by gathering data from German business institutions in Indonesia who would like to be included in the scheme. 鈥淐OVID-19 has been an unprecedented challenge for everyone, from countries, to businesses and families all across the world. EKONID is more than happy to help Indonesia to ensure that all eligible recipients are vaccinated against COVID-19,鈥 said Mr. Jan R枚nnfeld, Managing Director of EKONID.

All Indonesian legal entities and Business Entities can join Vaksinasi Gotong Royong. The data will be handed over to KADIN, which will be coordinating with the Indonesian government on the type of vaccine that will be provided as well as the implementation of the vaccination drive.

Companies can also participate directly via KADIN Indonesia, which has opened its second round of vaccination registrations data gathering which can be accessed until March 24th here ().
