With 300 member companies the German Food Processing and Packaging Machinery Association is one of the largest industry-specific associations within the VDMA (German Engineering Federation). The Association is the communication and information platform for its members and provide comprehensive support in their day-to-day work. It puts a strong focus on foreign markets, technology and standardization, guidelines and legislation, trade fairs and symposia.
The food processing and packaging machinery industry belongs to the Top 4 mechanical engineering sectors in Germany. 2018 the turnover amounted to more than 15 billion Euros. The mainly medium sized and family owned companies deliver their machines and equipment into more than 100 countries. Thus the export ratio of the branch is 86 percent on average.
