On June 15 – 17, The President of the Federal Republic of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier visited Indonesia in the framework of an official visit on the occasion of commemorating 70 years in Indonesia-Germany diplomatic relations. The two countries have agreed to tighten economic relations ranging from investment, trade, energy transition to cooperation in G7 and G20.Â
"This year, we commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Indonesia-Germany diplomatic relations. This is a momentum for Indonesia and Germany to strengthen relations," Jokowi remarked during a bilateral meeting attended by delegations from the two countries in the Oval Room of the Bogor Presidential Palace, on Thursday as quoted from Antaranews.
Indonesia and Germany continue to increase cooperation opportunities in the industrial sector. Currently, there are around 250 German multinational companies doing business in Indonesia with an investment value of US$182.3 million and a bilateral t ,.rade value of $6 billion in 2021.
To further strengthen cooperation and increase investment, the two countries also held The German-Indonesia Business Round Table on June 16, 2022. The round table was held at the Indonesian Digital Industry Center (PIDI 4.0) in Jakarta.
