Over the coming decades, digital technologies will make the manufacturing industry more connected, intelligent, efficient, reliable, and sustainable. Hence, businesses will seek the best technological solution to help them to reduce time to market and increase their plant's productivity. Siemens is offering the new V18 version of the Totally Integrated Automation (TIA) Portal at the TIA Portal Tech-Connext event on 30 - 31 May 2023 in Ayana Hotel Jakarta.
"Nowadays, industrial companies want to shorten their time-to-market, counteract the lack of skilled workers, and remain competitive. In that case, they need efficient automation engineering that can be quickly modified to meet new requirements. The latest version of the TIA Portal, Siemens' unique engineering framework for automation, gives unrestricted access to a complete range of digitalized automation services, from digital planning to integrated engineering and transparent operation," said Efraim Mayer, Head of Factory Automation, Digital Industries, PT Siemens Indonesia.
TIA Portal (Totally Integration Automation Portal) is widely applicable for industrial plant operators and system integrators, as well as innovative machine builders from a wide range of industries, e.g., food and beverage, automotive, pharmaceutical, water, and other manufacturing industries. It gives unrestricted access to a complete range of digitalized automation services, from digital planning to integrated engineering and transparent operation.
Users can now work in teams and parallel on projects and build and manage shared libraries. Access rights can be assigned individually or group-specifically, making collaboration more flexible. Thus, users can work in teams in a parallel way and create and manage shared storage or libraries that can be accessed together. This new function is more practical for various work stages, from planning and connecting to commissioning.
In this event, Siemens presents various advanced topics such as the benefit of simulation in automation along your entire value chain, the importance of standardization as the key to mastering digitalization's challenges, the convergence of information technology (IT) and operational technology (OT), and data transparency from shopfloor to the IT level.
One of the highlights is SIMATIC WinCC Unified, the new visualization system in TIA Portal and scalable from panel to distributed PC-based systems. In addition to the new WinCC Unified Runtime based on web technology (HTML5, SVG, and JavaScript), the WinCC Unified System includes a new generation of high-end HMI devices with multitouch and, in the future, Siemens Industrial Edge support.
The TIA Portal V18 roadshow event will be carried out in other cities, such as Medan on 26 - 27 June 2023 and Surabaya on 4 - 5 July 2023. This roadshow is part of Siemens' commitment to present innovations through advanced technology, like TIA Portal V18, for Indonesia's manufacturing industry on the path toward Industry 4.0.
