Background
Indonesia’s potential for Biomass and Biogas electricity is very promising. The country is the largest palm oil producer in the world, the third largest rice and the eighth largest sugar producer. The theoretical electricity potential from domestic biomass residues is estimated to be 50,000 MW. Furthermore, Indonesia's ever-growing energy demand and the government's goal of obtaining 23% of its energy from renewable energy sources by 2025, drive the development of renewable energy plants forward. In addition to small biomass plants for the private use, the market for larger commercial plants is starting to develop in Indonesia, opening up a potential operating field for foreign companies.
Supported by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi), EKONID will be organizing a conference that will highlight the current status of the biomass utilization in Germany and Indonesia. Experts from Germany will be presenting their latest technologies and share their experiences in realizing bioenergy projects.
During the two days following the conference Indonesian companies will have the opportunity to discuss possible projects during individual B2B meetings in their own premises. Registration will be made available soon.
